Local Scholarships are open to all seniors graduating in the current year.
Scholarships open November 10th @ 9am and close February 13th at 11:59pm.
The following scholarships all use the same SHS common application. This means your information will be saved upon completion of the first scholarship you fill out and is automatically input in the next scholarship applied for. Students will still need to submit each scholarship they apply for individually.

Hyde Racing Scholarship
Hyde Racing Scholarship: This $5,000-dollar scholarship will be awarded to one female in the graduating class who plans on attending a Community College or Trade/Technical School. This scholarship is renewable for two years, if the student maintains C’s and above while attending school full time. Hyde Racing is looking for a female student who has demonstrated the ability to overcome adversity while balancing the demands of high school. Closes February 13th @ 3:30pm. Applications are available in the counseling office and must be returned to the counseling office prior to the deadline.

Declan Reed Benenati Scholarship
A one-time $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to one applicant from each of the following local area schools.2026 Scholarship Application Deadline is May 8, 2026
Scholarship Recipient Requirements:

Applicants must be a current high school senior.
-
Applicants must attend an accredited or licensed post-high school educational or vocational institution or apprenticeship and be registered full time.

Applicants must fall under at least one of the following scenarios:
-
Have volunteer and service hours working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; OR
-
Plan on going into a field that provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (i.e. special education, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, behavior professional, direct support professional, services coordinator or counselor, etc.) This list is not exhaustive, and we can look at each application individually; OR
-
Be a student with intellectual and developmental disabilities who wishes to attend an accredited or licensed post-high school educational or vocational institution or apprenticeship.

The VOLTA scholarship
The VOLTA scholarship is specific for the vocational training school preparing students for entry-level work as a line worker in outside industry. This is a scholarship program provided by West Oregon Electric Co-op, one scholarship of $4,000 will be awarded to deserving graduating senior who resides in the WOEC service territory.

Lower Columbia SHRM awards scholarships up to $2000 to residents of Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook, and Pacific County who are graduating high school seniors or current college students.
2026 Scholarship Applications NOW OPEN through APRIL 30, 2026!
The intent of the LCHRMA Scholarship is to help finance education to students pursuing a career in business, especially those interested in the Human Resource field. Scholarship funds may be applied to tuition, books, and fees for the fall term at an accredited college or university.
The LC SHRM scholarship committee will select the scholarship winner based on merit. The committee’s award decision is final.

This scholarship was established in the spring of 2026 to provide financial assistance to worthy high school graduates, continuing their formal education. The award is to provide recognition for pride in a Scandinavian Heritage.
Criteria
1. Must be a graduating senior from a Clatsop County high school.
2. Must have ties to a Scandinavian ancestor or a Scandinavian story.
3. Must have a realistic, post-secondary educational plan for attending an educational, vocational or training institution.
4. A completed application form.
5. If selected, must be willing to attend and receive award at a regularly schedule SBS meeting In Astoria(June 10th @ 7pm).

Clatsop County Master Gardener Association
The Clatsop County Master Gardener™ Association Scholarship is awarded in increments of $500 to $2,000. The scholarship is designed for students pursuing post-secondary education in horticulture or related fields, including but not limited to: forestry, plant biology, agriculture, landscape architecture or design, landscape maintenance technology, floristry, education, or earth sciences. Clatsop County Safety Council Scholarship
The Clatsop County Safety Council Scholarship is now available:
The Clatsop County Safety Council started over fifty years ago as the Timber Operator's
Council and is the oldest, continuous, logging association in the Northwest. It started as a means
for independent logging contractors to work alongside union interests and has since turned into a
group that represents all logging related businesses. Most members belong to the Association of
Oregon Loggers, and they meet monthly to review safety issues that affect the industry.
We are looking for seniors who aspire to work in the natural resource industry by
acquiring a degree in Forestry or one of the fields that support our industry.Applications in the counseling office.
