  • Local Scholarship Common Application for 2020 Graduates (A single online application used by ALL of our local scholarship donors. Students will include a seperate copy of the cover page for each scholarship application they submit *changing the scholarship name field*.)

Transcript Requests

Current Students: 

Counseling staff members can print an unofficial transcript at any time upon request of a student or parent. To mail a transcript to a college or university, please fill out a transcript request form. Allow at least a week for the transcript to be mailed. Click here for our Transcript Request Form. Blank forms are also available in the counseling office.

State and National Scholarships 2019-2020

The following scholarships have been publicized to the SHS Counseling Office for the class of 2020.

  • Institute for Cultural Initiatives Scholarship: Deadline March 1st, 2020

To Qualify:

Graduating Oregon high school senior, prior Oregon HS graduate, or student who completed a GED or was home-schooled in Oregon.

Planning to enroll at least half-time (6 Credits) or full-time at a community college in Oregon.

May receive the scholarship up to four years, but must reapply and compete every year.

  • Oregon Community Leadership Scholarship: Deadline March 6th, 2020

Four-year renewable scholarship-mentorship program totaling $16,000 per student.

Four students will be selected.

 Established by NFL quarterback, Joey Harrington

To Qualify:

Achieve a high school diploma.

Completed an application to at least one Oregon collegiate program (college OR trade school)

Committed to attend an Oregon college or trade school in the 2020/21 academic year.

Completed standardized testing (ACT or SAT).

Proof of community involvement/volunteerism.

Have financial need.

Submit a completed application online. Which includes a one-page personal essay and two letters of recommendation.

Transcripts are not required.

No application fee.

  • North Coast Chapter A.B.A.T.E of Oregon: Deadline March 6th, 2020

The North Coast Chapter A.B.A.T.E. of Oregon, a motorcycle organization that promotes motorcycle awareness, education, safety and liberty through community involvement and legistlative action, is offering a $1,000 scholarship for graduating seniors in the class of 2020. 

To Qualify:

Students who wish to pursue a career in motorcycle mechanics and would like to attend MMI (Motorcycle Mechanics Institute) or WYO Tech in persuit of a Motorcycle Technology Certificate. This is also open to OTHER vocational studies.  Minimum GPA of 2.5.

  • Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha Omega Memorial Scholarship: Deadline March 6th, 2020

This scholarship was established in 1992 by the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an organization of women educatiors, to provide financial assistance to young women. 

To Qualify:

Only Astoria, Warrenton, and Seaside High School graduates are eligible. Financial need may be considered. The recipients must have demonstrated high scademic performance and exemplified good citizenship. Can be used to attend a two or four-year accredited institution.

  • Baked Alaska Culinary Arts or Vocational Training Scholarship: Deadline March 6th, 2020

Chris and Jennifer Holen established this scholarship in 2016. This award is given to a student wishing to further their education in the field of Culinary Arts or any other vocational training field.

  • International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union Local # 50: Deadline March 6th, 2020

To Apply: 

Application is available for pick up in the counseling office OR can be printed off under the "Forms" section at the top of the webpage. Scholarship name/Form Name is "ILW 50". Download the form and fill out as directed. 


  • Bob Chisholm-Glenn Bard Memorial Scholarship: Deadline March 20th, 2020

The Bob Chisholm-Glenn Bard Memorial Scholarship committee will be awarding multiple $1,000.00 scholarships to the graduating class of 2020.  The scholarships are open to everyone, with community service and volunteerism being the emphasis. Extra points will be awarded to students and/or parents who volunteer with their local fire department, within medical field or the community. However, all students are encouraged to apply. The scholarship review team may interview the top candidates prior to determining the final winners.

  • Oregon PTA Teacher Education Scholarship 2020: Deadline March 30th, 2020

 The Oregon PTA Teacher Education Scholarship is for Oregon residents who are studying for a teaching degree at an Oregon public college or university. The scholarship is a onetime award of $500 and is not renewable. Scholarship recipients may, however, re-apply in subsequent years. In 2019, 7 scholarships were awarded.

To Qualify:

Be an Oregon Resident

Be attending an Oregon public college or university that trains teachers or transfers education credits.

Major in education with the goal of becoming a primary or secondary teacher at an Oregon school.

Criteria for choosing winning applicants will include: Academics, Character, Knowlege of PTA.

  • Oregon Jaycee Foundation Scholarship 2020: Deadline April 17th, 2020 

Up to $2,000 in scholarships will be awarded to several graduating Oregon high school seniors in the class of 2020. The amount of scholarship is a one-time grant and must be used in the year awarded. The final selection of a recipient will be bases on the following criteria: Academic excellence, Personal accomplishments, Leadership qualities, and Community service. 

To Qualify: 

Applicants must have a 3.75 unweighted GPA or higher

Submit High School Transcript reflecting all grades earned through at least first term of senior year. 

Participation in extracurricular school and community activities outside of academic studies.

  • Master Gardener Scholarship 2020: Deadline April 17th 2020

Established in the fall of 2001, this scholarship recognizes an outstanding Clatsop County student(s) who express an interest in horticulture. Future fields of study can include but are not limited to: Forestry, Plant Biology, Agriculture, Landscape architecture/design, floristry, landscape maintenance technology, education, and earth sciences. Scholarship Value $1,000 

To Qualify:

Graduating senior from a Clatsop County shcool or home-schooled student who is planning to attend a community college, vocational/technical school, or a four-year university, which will lead to a college degree, license, or certification.

Funds must be used for tuition, books, fees, and/or related expenses. 

Once enrolled in school you must send verification of school enrollment no later than one month after the first day of class. Funds will be sent directly to the school.

  • Pointe Pest Control: Pay it forward scholarship: Deadline April 29th, 2020

For this scholarship, do something good for someone else and include a note telling them to pass it on. Bonus points are awarded for including pictures. We want to hear what good deed you did to help your commuinty. After you have finished your goood deed, pass along this scholarship to as many friends as you can. For every submission we get that says you referred/told them about the scholarship, you get bonus points. Once your good deed is finished and you have told all of your firends about this scholarship, play the Pointe Pest Control game and take a screenshot of your highest schore. Bonus points are added to your application for playing the game.

Scholarship is a one-time award of $750. 

A winner will be announced on May 30th, 2020

To Qualify:

This scholarship is now available to any high school senior in the United States that desires to apply. More information can be found on our scholarship application found below.
